Sherman Ray Paulson

Sherman Ray Paulson, 66 of Harts, WV departed this life on Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Harts, WV.

He was born January 16, 1951 in Hamlin, WV a son of the late Richard “Dickie” & Demi Paulsen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Wiley, one brother, William Odell Paulsen, two nephews, Ricky Barrett and Richard Vance, one niece, Kimberly Paulsen and his father and mother-in-law, Dickie & Joann Dempsey.

Sherman enjoyed running equipment, riding horses, and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He was a retired coal miner and member of the Local Union 93 & 7093 and the owner of Paulson Construction.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Judy Paulson; one daughter, Della Jo Dempsey; one son, Barry (Jessica) Paulson; one sister, Sara (Henry) Meeks; three brothers, Charlie (Verdella) Paulsen, Lige (Brenda) Paulsen and Willie (Dru) Paulsen; one special grandson, Richard “Peep” (Ashley) Adkins; six grandchildren, Patrick Napier, Joe Napier, Mika Napier, Chad Paulson, Brittany Parson and Tori Napier; and three great-grandchildren, Walker Lee Adkins, Hayden Marie Adkins and Lola Napier.

Services will be held at 1 pm, Friday, February 24, 2017 at Freeman Funeral Home with Jimmy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Vance Cemetery, Copley Trace, Harts, WV.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 11 am – 1 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
