Robert James Lewis

Robert “Bobby” James Lewis, passed away Wednesday morning at the age of 75 surrounded by his loved ones. Bobby was born in Charleston, WV to James and Louise Lewis, the owners of the Lewis Supermarket on Truslow Street. After graduating from Charleston High School and Morris Harvey College, Bobby entered the food industry and spent most of his career with Ore-Ida Foods as a national sales executive based in Miami, FL, and Atlanta, GA before returning to Charleston.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, James and Louise, brother Ernest Wayne, and nephew Christopher Bsharah. He is survived by his partner Karen Thaxton, sisters Christine Peterson (Jack) and Deborah Bsharah (George), nephews David Peterson, Brian Peterson, John Bsharah, and niece Anna Bsharah.

Bobby has a passion for boating and was a member of the Kanawha River Navy. He was an active member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral. Although he traveled the world, Bobby came back to West Virginia and fell in love with Canaan Valley, where he spent much of his leisure time with friends and family.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 pm, Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the St. George Orthodox Cathedral with Rev. Fr. Christopher Eid, Rev. Fr. Stephen DeYoung and the Very Rev. Father Olaf Scott officiating, with the visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
