Charles Lester

Charles Lester, 63, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at his residence.

He was born March 6, 1954 in Holden, WV a son of the late Jennings & Edith Thompson Lester.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harmon & Nancy Justice Lester and Samuel & Kansas Stacy Thompson, one son, Charles Stephen Lester and one brother, Edward Lester.

Charles enjoyed old cars, talking to old friends, spending time with his kids and grandkids, and going to church at Sardis Old Regular Baptist Church at Delbarton.

Those left to cherish his memory include his ex-wife, Sue Lester of Chapmanville; one daughter, Meda (John) Mayhorn of Chapmanville; two sons, Gary Lester of Chapmanville and Edward (Cindy) Lester of Danville; one sister, Kathleen (Earnest) Butcher of Chapmanville; seven grandchildren, Kayla Conley, Zachary Lester, Shyann Ferrell, Jonathan Lester, Connor Lester, Bailey Ferrell and Brantley Mayhorn; two great grandchildren, Haven Meeks and Owen Ferrell; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Joey Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Lester Cemetery, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 6 – 9 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
