Woodrow “Woody” Vance, 59 of Logan, WV, departed this life on February 8, 2025 at his residence.

He was born November 7, 1965 in Logan, WV a son of the late Freelin Vance and Mary (Messer) Vance.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Woodrow & Virgie Vance and Jesse & Myrtle Messer and one brother, Freelin “Bug” Vance Jr.

Woody loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Virginia Nicole (Chaz) Custer of Dayton, OH; three sisters, Mary Ann (Mark) Bias of Meadowview, VA, Marsha (Mike) Bradley of Whitman, WV and Tammy (Timmy) Robertson of Meadowview, VA; one brother, Chris Vance of Logan, WV; three grandchildren, Zack, Brady, and Peyton Custer of Dayton, OH; one special sister-in-law, Nikki Vance; and a host of family and friends.

Services will be held at 7:00pm, Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with Mark Bias and Michael Hartwell officiating.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the Mt. Moriah United Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Gid Vance Family Cemetery, Dingess, WV.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Freeman Funeral Home.
