William "Bill" Farmer

William “Bill” Farmer, 72, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on January 21, 2023 at his residence.

He was born August 16, 1950 in Logan, WV, the son of the late Logan Farmer & Princess Scaggs Farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arfano & Mae (Conley) Scaggs, and William C. & Mary Jane (Peyton) Farmer , father & mother-in-law, Bert Oliver & Anna Elizabeth Trumble and a host of aunts and uncles.

Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, collecting guns, playing guitars, referreing football games, working on home projects and rebuilding cars.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sherrie Farmer of Chapmanville; one daughter, Julianna Farmer of Huntington; one son, Joseph “Joey” Farmer of Chapmanville; two brothers, Jerry (Carolyn) Farmer of Huntington and Roger (Sherry) Farmer of Union Town, OH; two grandchildren, Eli Farmer and Hailey Toppings-Farmer both of Chapmanville; two nephews, Russell Farmer of Huntington and Christopher Farmer of Charleston, SC; and one niece, Heather Williams of Charleston, SC.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Pecks Mill, WV with President Edward Toney and Elder Bill Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary pallbearer will be Charles Killian.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
