William Virgil Workman, 66 of Harts, WV, departed this life on October 18, 2024 at the Genesis Healthcare Center.

He was born March 23, 1958 in Lincoln County, WV the son of the late Lawrence & Millie Workman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Workman, daughter, Michelle Workman, brother, Lawrence Farley Workman Jr and his grandparents, Elbert & Irene Workman and John & Eunice Manns.

Virgil was a strip miner and coal truck driver. He loved to ride horses and spend time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include one son, William “Bill” (Danielle) Workman Jr; four brothers, Robert (Joyce) Workman, Raymond (Margie) Workman, Larry (Rebecca) Workman and John Workman; sister-in-law, Donna Jean Workman; three grandchildren, Lola Workman, Ashton Workman and Colton Workman; his four step grandchildren, Josh Porter, Daren Porter, Dakota Nelson and James Cooper; special nephew, Michael Workman.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the Francis Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Jimmy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Workman Family Cemetery, Harts, WV.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the church.

Pallbearers will be Josh Porter, Daren Porter, Caleb Farmer, Dylan Farmer and Michael Workman.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
