Wanda J. Vance

Wanda J. Vance, 77 of Marrowbone, WV, departed this life on May 15, 2023 at Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.

She was born May 5, 1946 in Kermit, WV the daughter of the late James “Claude” Dillon and Nora Sturgill Dillon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Joseph “Joe” Vance, grandparents, Albert & Rosie Dillon, sister, Margaret Dillon, brothers, Douglas, James Howard, Tom, George, Dallas, Danny and Frank, grandchild, Loren Richmond, great grandchild, Brayden Scott Manns and her father and mother-in-law, Walter Leslie & Georgia May Vance.

Wanda enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, playing with her grandbabies, singing and spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include daughters, Carol (Wayne) Richmond, Nora (Kevin) Napier, Susie (Raymond) Spaulding, and Sharon Vance; sons, Timothy (Cynda) Vance, James (Pearlie) Vance and Larry (Pauletta) Vance; sisters, Joyce (Rayburn) Spaulding, Claudette Dillon (Mike) and Edwina Dillon; brother, Edward Dillon; grandchildren, Joanna, Britiany, Aaron, Adam, Nicole, Danielle, Ashley, Tia, Samantha, Brandon, Courtney D., Megan, Matthew, Courtney P., Jacob and Dawson; and twenty eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home with Richard Belcher officiating. Burial will follow at the Hannah Cemetery, Kermit, WV.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons.
