Walter Leslie Sanders, 69 of Henlawson, WV, departed this life on Monday, June 15, 2026 at Logan Nursing Center.

He was born January 22, 1957 in Huntington, WV the son of the late Herbert J and Emily Sanders.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry Wilson Sanders & Alma Alice Sanders and Elijah Adkins & Minnie Belle Adkins; father-in-law, Sylvan Killen Jr, and his mother-in-law, Joy Killen.

Walter enjoyed 4-wheeling, muddy ridge riding, listening to Rock music, like Alice Cooper, Grand Funk Railroad, souping up cars, and drag racing on Holden 22.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Terry Lynn Killen Sanders; son, Chris Edward Sanders; step-son, John David Browning; sister, Connie (Tom) Keeney; brother, Lyle (Donna) Sanders; and grandchildren, John Edward Browning and Lydia Star Browning.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 12:00-1:00 PM at Freeman Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, June 19, 2026 at Freeman Funeral Home with Tim Bliegh officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, WV.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Tom Keeney.
