Vivian Leah Gibson

Vivian Leah Gibson, 85, of Dempsey Branch, WV, departed this life on February 9, 2020 at her residence.

She was born July 28, 1934 in Logan, WV, the daughter of the late Evin and Ruby Browning.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Gibson, one son, James Davie Gibson, one grandson, Markee Vernon Gibson, two sisters, Magalene (Corbin) Bryant and Phyllis (Charles) Jarrett, daughter-in-law, Lisa Gibson, step-mother, Helen Browning and her special friend, Jim Shepherd.

Vivian was a devout christian and a member of the Upper Room Ministries. She loved spending quality time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Valerie (Rick) Dalton of Logan, and Jamie (David) Maynard of Dempsey Branch; two sons, Greg Gibson of Dempsey Branch and Curtis (Jane) Gibson of Garrett Fork; two brothers, Artsel (Bonnie) Browning of Monitor and Jerry (Carol) Browning of Dempsey Branch; grandchildren, Amanda (Darel) Runyon of Logan, Evan Gibson of Logan, Jeremiah Dalton of Logan, Kristi Leighann Dalton of Logan and Kevin Bucher of Garrett Fork; great-grandchildren, Haley Markee Maynard of Dempsey Branch, Keydon Runyon of Logan, Rockelle Gibson of Logan and Amelia Dalton of Logan; two sisters in the Lord, Sue Ann Curry and Shirley Hall; and two special nieces, Jerri Lenora Townsend and Jamie Browning.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home with Mike Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Gibson, Evan Gibson, Jeremiah Dalton, Rick Dalton, David Allen “Long Legs” Maynard, Darel Runyon II, and Bob Kolovich.

Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Gibson, Cliff Jarrett, Berbin Townsend, Dennis Gollihue II and Dickie Damron.
