Vivian Naomi Ferrell, 94 of Lake, WV, passed away peacefully at home on August 14, 2023.
She was born August 15, 1928 at Ethel, WV, the daughter of Alfred and Memory Nelson Craddock.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Ferrell, daughter, Beverly Morrison, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Isaac and Elizabeth Ferrell, and twelve brothers and sisters, Bessie Nelson, Orville Craddock, Lola Pauley, Tim Craddock, Roma Jeffrey, Nona Gearheart, Ona Ferrell, Hassell Craddock, Wilson Craddock, Johnny Craddock, Darrell Craddock and Eleanor Craddock.
Vivian loved gardening, sewing, making beautiful quilts, crocheting and knitting. She was affectionally known as “The Flower Lady” because of her tremendous passion for flower gardening. She enjoyed it most when she could give her plants and flowers and beautiful things she made to family and friends. She also loved rooting for the Cincinnati Reds and watching Wheel of Fortune. Most of all she dearly loved her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Diann (Paul) Epling; four grandchildren, Craig Epling, Shannon Bailey, Carissa Epling and Justin Bailey; three great-grandchildren, Christian Epling, Jaden Epling and Harper Bailey; many loved nieces and nephews; and special friends, Paul Ed and Carol Dillon.
Services will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Roger McCauley officiating. Burial will follow at the Baldwin Cemetery, Lake, WV.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
