Virginia Conley Kessler, 94 of Godby Branch, Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on October 5, 2024, at her residence.

She was born January 12, 1930, in Shivley, WV, the daughter of the late Stonewall Conley and Essie Bryant Conley.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Kessler; son, Toney (Gail) Kessler; daughter, Joyce Kessler; grandsons, Jeremy Phillips and Brent Justice; great-grandson, Brad Kessler; one great-granddaughter; daughters-in-law, Gail Kessler and Janet Kessler; sons-in-law, Gary Hensley and Kenny Kirk; and in-laws, Lacey and Kate Kessler.

Virginia enjoyed quilting, canning, cooking, making apple pies, and spending time with family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Susie Lail (Harry), Nina Sloan (Jeff), Barbara Hensley Kirk, Betsy Warner (Terry), and Brenda Adams (Charlie); sons, Jack Kessler (Wilma), Bob Kessler (Debbie), Ralph Kessler (Ginny) and Thomas “Slick” Kessler (Lois); grandchildren, Christi Ellis Gromis, James Ellis, Allen Kessler, Nicole Kessler Adkins, Clayton Kessler, Josh Kessler, Monty Kessler, Melissa Vandyke, Shell Kessler, Katrina Kessler, Carl Kessler, Hank Kessler, Denny Kessler, Mindy Kessler Hager, Dan Hensley, Amanda Hensley Varney, Whitney Hensley Thompson, Dylan Warner, Kate Adams, Suzanne Phillips and Matthew Adams; 28 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, October 9, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Manasses Hensley Jr. and Rev. Daniel Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at the Kessler Family Cemetery, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on October 9, 2024, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
