Vessie Lee Marcum

Vessie Lee Marcum, 68, of Logan, WV, departed this life on August 1, 2020 in Logan, WV.

He was born July 2, 1952 in Kirk, WV, the son of the late Oscar and Phyllis Marcum.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Curtis Marcum.

Vessie enjoyed reading the Bible, crossword puzzles and spending time with family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include wife of 45 years, Retha J. Marcum; one daughter, Rachel (Randall) Tiller; one son, Chad (Rachael) Marcum; two sisters, Bonnie Ferrell Robinson and Lorraine Justice; one brother, Tommy Marcum; eight grandchildren, Paige Tiller, Natalie (Justin) Ellis, Nicholas Marcum, Kara Marcum, Avarie Pansera, James Marcum, Christian Tiller, and Caleb Tiller; two great grandchildren, Anthony Chambers and Mckenzie Pauley; and his special caregiver, Jennifer Spaulding.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, August 7, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Skeens officiating. Burial will follow at Frye Cemetery, Verdunville, WV.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
