Toney Kessler

Toney Kessler, 67, of Godby Branch, Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on August 28, 2021 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

He was born May 12, 1954 in Chapmanville, WV, the son of Virginia Conley Kessler and the late Thomas Carl Kessler.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Kessler, grandparents, Lacy & Kate Godby Kessler, and Stonewall & Essie Conley, one sister, Joyce Kessler, and his father and mother-in-law, Claude & Georgia Farley.

Toney enjoyed studying the bible, going to church, talking about coal mining, spending time with family and friends and loving on his grandkids.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Mindy (David) Hager; two sons, Hank (Mary) Kessler and Denny (Delores) Kessler; five sisters, Susie (Harry) Lail, Nina (Jeff) Sloan, Betsy (Terry) Warner, Barbara (Kenny) Kirk and Brenda (Charlie) Adams; four brothers, Bob (Debbie) Kessler, Jack (Wilma) Kessler, Ralph (Jeanie) Kessler and Slick (Janet) Kessler; seven grandchildren, Cacy Kessler, Lori Kessler, Jeremiah Hager, Megahn Hager, Sydnee Kessler, Shane Kessler and Hana Kessler; and his special friends, Raybo Williams, Harry Dingess, Eugene Sparks and Danny Farley.

Masks will be required.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, September 3, 2021 at Victory Freewill Baptist Church with Rocky Chafin and Harry Dingess officiating. Burial will follow at Kessler Family Cemetery, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the church.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Victory Freewill Baptist Church.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
