Thomas A. “Tom” Lucas, 73, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Monday, July 22, 2019 at the Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston, WV.
He was born February 24, 1946 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Kermit and Irene Lucas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, CB Lucas, Hattie Enochs, John D. McNeely and Lucy Phipps and his twin brother, Robert A. Lucas.
Tom was a Vietnam Veteran and was a member of the Sons of the Second, VFW Post 6153, American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville, DAV Post 39 of Harts, the Honor Guard and First Baptist Church of Chapmanville. He worked at Browning and Freeman Furniture for 40 years and worked at the Williamson Greenhouse for 15 years.
Those left to cherish his memory include two sisters, LouAnn (Rodney) Hill and Elizabeth (Gary) Peterson; a host of nieces and nephews; and his special friends, Jennifer Cook and Harry Freeman.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Hargraves officiating. Burial will follow at the Dingess Cemetery, Chapmanville, WV.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 11 am – 1 pm at the the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
