Thelma Ferrell Obituary

Thelma Gay Ferrell, 90 of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on June 17, 2022 at Chapmanville, WV.

She was born July 22, 1931 in Curry, WV the daughter of the late James and Inez (Carpenter) Hanna.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, her one and only true love Bobby Joe Ferrell, together they had six children in which one daughter, Kathy Lynn Dingess and two sons Donald Joe Ferrell, Timothy Irvin Ferrell have gone on before her. She came from a large family of siblings those who are preceded in death are, Six sisters, Ethel Cochron, Faye Nelson, Ruth Jeffrey, Bonnie Perry, Betty Hager and baby Rosalee Hanna; Six brothers, Jimmy Hanna, Danny Hanna, Thurman Hanna, Warren Hanna, William "Bill" Hanna, and baby Glenn David Hanna.

Thelma loved to read the Word of God she also loved to quilt, make crafts, and make jewelry out of homemade beads. She loved cooking, baking and feeding anyone that stopped over! Her passion and ministry was making prayer cloths for her Church at Crawley Creek Church of God under (Pastor Vivie Marcum), She loved her Church and was a very faithful member of the Church Of God for over 40 years! Thelma served the Lord for 45 years and made it a mission to see loved ones saved and serve God. Thelma was the most loving, kind hearted mother, grandma, great grandma, aunt and sister to many, Her heart was huge for her family and always put them first and above all her needs.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter Gleniece (Gee Gee) and son-n-law Jerry Workman of Chapmanville, WV, two sons James Ferrell of Chapmanville WV, and Dane (Christine) Ferrell of Streetsboro, Ohio, Two sisters Janice Hanna, Linda (Paul) Nelson of Marysville, Ohio, One brother Mac (Lucy) Hanna of Ohio, Grandchildren are Robert (Margaret) Dingess, Rebecca (Bobby) Collier, Matthew (Nicole) Ferrell, Chance Ferrell, Jericho Ferrell, Misty (Wetzel) Adkins, Savannah (Joshua) Holland, Katie Workman, Jamee Gasson, and Candace Ferrell. Great grandchildren, Hayden and Haper Ferrell, Jessica, Robert, and Joseph Dingess, Emily Adkins, Bobby and Keagan Collier, Morgana Gasson, Hartleigh Grace and several others. A host of many nieces and nephews, Three Very special people whom she loved like her own children, Pastor Vivie Marcum and Tammie Marcum, Her son-n-law but more like another son Danny (Cotton) Dingess, Her beautiful special great niece that came often to see her and who we all love and adore dearly Misty Adams, Special Sister-n-laws, Phyllis Duty and Brenda Ferrell, And Her sweet Sandy-dog.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the Crawley Creek Church of God.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, June 20, 2022 at the church with Bishop Vivie Marcum officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
