Terry Dwayne Murphy, a beloved son, brother, and dad passed away May 6, 2024 at his residence in Chapmanville, WV.

Born August 16, 1984, in Logan WV, he was the cherished son of Terry Murphy and Lynn Maynard Murphy and loving brother of Jenifer Smith.

Terryʼs life, though brief, was known by a kind heart, dedicated employee and being a remarkable dad to Aurora and Urijah. Terry enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, vacationing with family, and a fan of Star Wars. Terry was a 2002 graduate of Tug Valley High School and an employee with UPS since 2004 making many lasting friendships with a company that treated him like family.

Terry was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harrison Murphy, paternal grandmother, Anna Mae Spaulding Murphy, maternal grandfather James “Jim” Russell Maynard, maternal grandmother, Alice Mullins Maynard, cousin, Dwayne “DD” Bradley, Aunt, Sue Murphy Beavers and Uncle, Harrison “Spot” Murphy.

Terry will be sadly missed by his father, Terry Murphy, mother, Lynn Maynard Murphy, sister, Jenifer (Chad) Renee Murphy Smith, daughter, Aurora Bliss Murphy, son, Urijah Vader Murphy, nephews, Devin Murphy, Kaleb and Kyle Deskins, Chase (Brooklyn) Smith, nieces Kaylyn (Paul) Hammond, Karli Smith, girlfriend Ashley Price, along with many uncles, aunts, cousins, great nephews, great nieces and friends.

The family will receive family and friends at Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV 25508 from 12 pm - 2 pm, Saturday, May 11, 2024.

Funeral service will follow immediately at 2 pm, with Vivie Marcum and Robbie May officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.

Pallbearers are as follows: Wesley Edwards, Danny Lane, Dave Fortune, Travis Williamson, Dave Wolfe (UPSers), and Austin Kirk.

Honorary Pallbearers: Eric Wooten, Devin Murphy, Chad Smith, and Chadd Fillinger.
