Terry Dale Collins, 69 of Holden, WV, born December 28, 1955 moved to his heavenly home, Saturday, May 10, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Terry was a retired coalminer who loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. His laugh was so contagious. His co-workers nicknamed him “Giggles.” If you met him once, you were his friend for life. He never forgot a face and would greet you with a hug and a smile. Even his doctors would get hugs and “I love yous.” He joked and teased with everyone and he especially enjoyed pestering his nephew, JonBoy.

Terry was a Christian for 50 years and loved his church family at 5&6 Holden Freewill Baptist Church where he was a member, and he also loved his extended church family at Abundant Life Worship Center.

Terry was on the Cleveland Clinic lung transplant list and waited for the call for his new lungs. But God had another plan and now Terry is taking that deep breath that he so longed for. He will be missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Kay Collins and his father and mother-in-law, Haskel and Gay Williamson.

Those left to cherish his memory include the love of his life, his wife of 50 years, Retha Collins; his children, Ben (Heather) Collins of Verdunville and Tera (Hershel) Adkins of Holden; his grandchildren, Alexis Adkins (Aaron Hayes), Alli and Titus Adkins; his great-grandchildren, Grayson and Ronan Hayes; his brothers, James “JD” Collins, Rob (Rose) Collins; his sister, Dena (Bill) Spry; special friends, Randy and Debbie Brumfield; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 5&6 Holden Freewill Baptist Church with Alvis Porter Jr and Larry Light officiating.

Memorial visitation will be on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the church.
