Tempie Lavon Young, 52 of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on May 24, 2025 at St. Mary's Medical Center, in Huntington, WV.

She was born July 3, 1972 in Logan, WV the daughter of the late Lowell Workman and Rhoda Perry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ollie Workman, Jimmy Workman and Earl Workman and her father-in-law, Lewis Nord.

Tempie enjoyed camping, four-wheeling, and spending time with family. She also enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola trinkets.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Bobby Young; two sons, Charlie (Stephanie) Young of Branchland and Lowell Robbie Young of Chapmanville; six sisters, Marlena Butcher, Della Runyon, Ann Bryant, Dawn Williams, Michelle Workman and Donna Perry; three brothers, Jamie Workman, Dewey Perry and Chuckie Frye; two grandchildren, Haley Young and Carson Young; her mother-in-law, Brenda Nord of Chapmanville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with John E. Godby officiating. Burial will follow at the Young Cemetery, at Godby Heights, in Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Young, Lowell Young, Dewey Perry, Bobby Young, Jordan Adams and Johnny Dingess.
