Shirley Ann Prince, 71 of Madison, WV, departed this life on September 4, 2024 at her residence.

She was born October 29, 1952 in Rock Creek, WV the daughter of the late Hubert Hager and Vivian Jarrell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandparents, Jeffrey Epling and Oma Epling, daughter, Jennifer Ann Fortney, brother Calvin Miller Jr and her father-in-law, Hershel Prince Jr.

Shirley enjoyed her succulent garden and feeding the deer.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Brian Prince of Low Gap, WV; daughter, Cindy (Matthew) Wrenn of Knoxville, MD; son, T.W. Fortney of Ona, WV; three sisters, Susie (Leo) Ball of Pecks Mill, Lora (Vince) Galloway of Bellingham, Mass and Annette Iverson of Danville, WV; brother, Gene (Ella) Hager of Mud River, WV; grandchildren, Cidney Fortney of Ona, Sarah Winpigler of Hagerstown, MD and Crystafer Fortney of Morrisvale, WV; mother-in-law, Helen Prince; and a host of family, friends and wonderful neighbors who she loved dearly.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
