Scott Dale Butler, 63 of Harts, WV, departed this life on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at his residence.

He was born on July 17, 1962 to John Phillip Butler and Mary June Butler in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Scott was a hardworking and devoted father who found joy in his children, the outdoors, and building or tending to anything that needed his hands. He was the kind of man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, never hesitating to show up when someone needed support. He had a soft spot for animals and could never turn away a stray. That kindness is how his loyal dog, Cash, came into his life. Cash remained faithfully by his side every day until Scott's passing.

Scott is preceded in death by one sister Theresa Bass and brother-in-law Lee Bass, mother Mary Butler and father John Butler.

Left to cherish his memory are brother Johnny (Patricia) Butler, and four children, Nichelle Butler, Heather (Irineo) Mata, Breanna Butler, and Hayden Butler. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held at 12:00pm, Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints with President Jared Justice officiating. Burial will follow at the VanNatter-Ferrell Cemetery in Big Ugly, WV.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 5, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
