Sarah Elizabeth Raines, 90 of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on April 20, 2025 at her residence.

She was born February 21, 1935 in Sarah Ann, WV the daughter of the late Martin and Edith Ferguson Richards.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard M. Raines, son, Freddie Raines, daughter, Marsha Raines, brothers, Clabe Richards, Leroy Richards, Franklin Richards, Martin Richards, Hobert Lane Richards, and Roland Bernard Richards, sisters, Creddia Manns and Biddie Mae Ball and her daughter-in-law, Junie Justice Raines.

Sarah enjoyed going to church, working in flowers and playing with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, David (Sandy) Raines and Gregory (Oma) Raines; sister, Nellie Judah; grandchildren, Alan Raines (Andrea), Anthony Raines (Stephanie), David Raines (Brandy) and Joe Raines (Danielle); great grandchildren, Brady, Alyssa, Josie, Remington, Gracie Joe.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with Lonnie Gore officiating. Burial will follow at the Raines Cemetery, Phico, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
