Sammy Junior Cochran

Sammy Junior Cochran, 78, of Jeffrey, WV, departed this life on September 30, 2022, at Boone Memorial Hospital, Madison, WV.

He was born March 26, 1944, in Bryson City, NC, the son of the late Sam and Lottie Cochran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jarae Cochran and his father-in-law, Gary “Pete” Jarrell.

Sammy enjoyed gardening, hunting, spending time at the Spruce River Community Center and spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lisa Cochran; three daughters, Ashley Hager (Joseph), Sarah Lockard (Justin) and Ivy Dent (Jordan); one son, Chip Cochran (Carla); one brother, Doug Cochran; thirteen grandchildren, Addison Lockard, Layla Cochran, Logan Hager, Myles Hager, Jayden Lockard, Parker Hager, Paxton Lockard, Mason Lockard, Charlotte Dent, Raegan Dent, Fletcher Dent, Kimber Dent and Destiny Worley; two special sister-in-law, Krista Brooke, Kimberly Jarrell; and mother-in-law Janet Jarrell.

Donations can be made to the Spruce River Community Center, 18044 Spruce River Road, Ottawa, WV 25149 in Sammy's memory.

There will be a Memorial Potluck at 4:00pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Ball Chapel Fellowship Hall.
