Ruth Ann Stiltner Smeltzer, 64 of Aiken, SC formerly of Chapmanville, departed this life on August 6, 2020.
She was born February 20, 1956 in Huntington, WV, the daughter of the late Thurmond Lee and Verlie Workman Booth.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Vernon Lee & Lula Ellen Dingess Lee and John Lee Workman & Gracie Carter Workman,1st husband, Thomas “GI Joe” Stiltner, brothers, Kyle Boothe, and Johnny Booth, sister, Linda Rae Vaughn, brothers-in-law, Roger Lemery and Elbert Claxton, niece, Lula Ellen Blankenship, nephews, Brandon Lee Taylor, Little David Owsley Jr, William Jones, John Booth Jr, Jeffrey Lee Dingess, and Chris Schebler; very special Pastor, Laccie Montgomery; and special friend, Marsha Butcher Sanders.
Ruth Ann was a former member of the Church of God In The Name of Jesus Christ at Wilkenson, and she is now a member of the Abundant Salvation Praise and Worship Church in Aiken, SC. She enjoyed living and praising the Lord, singing and reading. Ruth loved visiting with family, and writing poems and songs.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Stephen Smeltzer; step-daughter, Amy Copley; sisters, Pearl Claxton, Judy Lemery, Mary (Darrell) Jones, Gracie (Virgil) Akers, Barbara Sue (Carlos) Owsley; brothers, Thurmond Thomas “Tommy” (Lena) Lee, Paul David (Linda) Lee, James R. (Karen) Lee and Thurmond Lewis Blankenship; step-grandchildren, Eugene and Joshua Copley; sisters-in-law, Janice Booth and Darlene Hoskinson Boothe; some special people in her life, Rhonda Dingess and kids, Brandon Lee, Taylor Brooke, Kylene and Chris Missler, Whitney Taylor, Bethany Schebler & her son Brody, Monica, and Casey Boddie & kids, Braisson, Miley, Aaron and Vicky & their daughter Kiera Lee, Erika Lee & kids, Neveah, Aryana, and Addison; special mom, Judy Podunavac, special sister, Rhonda Branham; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor John Wade officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 11:00 am til 1:00 pm at Freeman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
