Ross “Rooster” Bryant, 66 of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at his home.

He was born September 26, 1958, in Logan, WV, the son of the late Frank Bryant, Blanche Bryant, and his stepmother who raised him as her own, Hattie Bryant.

Ross enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He loved spending his days tinkering with old cars and trucks. Any chance he got he would take a ride in the mountains and even camp in some of the places he found.

Those left to cherish his memory include his three daughters, Melinda (Travis) Evans, Christian Bryant and Cindy Runyon; two sons, Scottie (Amanda) Vance and James (Cassie) Bryant; one sister, Mary Jane Sturgell; sixteen grandchildren, Tiffany (PJ) Fillinger, Scottie (Paige) Vance II, Mikayla (Frank) Bailey, Isaiah Vance, Savannah Workman (Trenton Porter), John Workman, Travis “Little T” Evans II, Noah Evans, Ethan Evans, Kylie Evans, Jordan Evans, Matthew Evans, Wesley Bryant, Emmalea “Emmy” White, Nikenly Ball and Christopher Griffin; eight great grandchildren, Carson, Landon, Jaysen and Karmen Fillinger, Lillian “Lilly” Bryant, Greyson Vance, Baby Bailey, and Maggie Kronz; special friends, Homer and Velma Lacy; and his ex-wives, Carol Bryant and Angela Baisden.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the church.

Services will be held at 12:00pm, Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Piney Community Church, Piney, WV, with Jerry Allen Adams officiating. Burial will follow at the Vance-Bryant Family Cemetery, Buck Fork, Harts, WV.

Pallbearers will be Scottie Vance, Scottie Vance II, James Bryant, Travis Evans, Frank Bailey and Trenton Porter.

Honorary Pallbearers will be P.J. Fillinger and Trevor Payne.
