Roger Alan McGrew

Roger Alan McGrew, 70, of Holden, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Charleston, WV.
He was born February 3, 1949 in Logan, WV, a son of the late Howard B. and Ruthjean McGrew.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, William Adkins.
Roger was an Eagle Scout, Veteran of the United States Marine Corp, the former President of the Holden Miners Little League, President of McGrew Tire Company for forty years and Chairman of the Logan Medical Foundation. Roger was an avid supporter of all Logan County youth, and sponsored several sport teams.  He attended 7&8 Freewill Baptist Church in Holden, WV.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty years, Linda McGrew; two daughters, Melinda McGrew of Charleston and Staci (Morgan) Freeman of Martinsburg; one son, Mark (Tracey) McGrew of Holden; two sisters, Cindy (Carl) Sargent and Connie (Robert) Hargis; five grandchildren, Allison (Ray) McCallister, Morgan (Tyler) Kennedy, Lauren McGrew, Connor McGrew and Claire Freeman; three great grandchildren, Gavin Kennedy, Kylie Kennedy and Landyn McCallister and his mother-in-law Lucille Adkins, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Reverend Alvis Porter II officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Chapmanville, WV.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 12:00pm to  2:00pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Kennedy, Ray McCallister, Josh Hargis, Kyle Sargent, Connor McGrew and Joe Mileto.
Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
