Roger Scott Johnson

Roger Scott Johnson, 47, of Dingess, WV, departed this life on May 23, 2021 at his residence.

He was born November 6, 1973 in Hammond, Indiana, the son of Sharon Kaye (Newsome) Johnson and the late Roger Lee Johnson.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul & Delilah Newsome, Lafahette Johnson and Columbia Stollings and one special uncle, Orville Newsome.

Roger Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in the mines and drag racing.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include one step-son, Evan Young; one niece, Renee Hensley; one nephew, Calvin Hensley; one uncle, Carlos Newsome; and three aunts, Margie Parsley, Essie Penny and Paula Runyon.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, May 28, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home with James Ed Baisden officiating. Burial will follow at the Dillion-Prince Cemetery, at Dingess, WV.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to Freeman Funeral Home to help pay for funeral arrangements.
