Rita Darlene Jarrell

Rita Darlene Jarrell, 56 of Logan, WV formerly of Big Creek, WV, departed this life on June 9, 2022 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV.

She was born June 17, 1964 in Logan, WV the daughter of the late Sherman & Juanita Canterbury.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry & Redith Sizemore, and Edgar & Vinnie Canterbury, one sister, Pam Burgess and three nephews, Joshua Canterbury, Jeremy Canterbury and Austin Martin.

Rita enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Steven and her family. She also enjoyed sitting and talking to her family and friends. Family meant so much to Rita.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Angel Dingess of Kentucky; one sister, Henrietta Sue (Bub) Evans of Logan; one brother, Sherman Canterbury of Logan; one grandson,, Steven Michael Dingess of Harts; nieces, Lisa (Roger) Bryant, and Victoria Marcum; nephews, Eric (Brittni) Evans and Jacob Canterbury; special nephew, Ethan Bryant; great-nieces, Brooklyn and Kylie Bryant and Carmen Evans; very special aunt, Patty Clark and a very special cousin, Sally (Sal) Elkins who both took very good care of Rita in her last months; and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, June 13, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home with Jimmy Carter and Chance Conn officiating.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the funeral home.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Freeman Funeral Home to help with arrangements.
