Ricky Dale Triplett

Ricky Dale Triplett, 69 of Ferrellsburg, WV departed this life on August 16, 2023 at St. Mary's Medical Center.

He was born August 3, 1954 in Huntington, WV the son of the late Dencil and Fern Harvey Triplett.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Troy and Vernie Messinger Triplett and Sam and Betty Cremeans Harvey; father and mother-in-law; Omer and Myrtle Burns; granddaughter, Leanna Joy Triplett; a host of children and grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Jack Ferrell and Butch Brunty; and nephew, Roger Billy Ferrell.

Rick enjoyed attending church, singing for the Lord, spending time with his family, traveling, Lionel Trains, all things Civil War, military history, studying about his heroes Robert E. Lee and Abraham Lincoln, and teaching Sunday class.

Those left to cherish his memory include his “Sugar Love” Patty Triplett; sons, Jonathan Ricky (Heather) Triplett and Michael Todd (Jeanie) Triplett; sisters, Vickie Gail (George) Triplett Lusher and Sandra Christina (Brad) Triplett Bowen; brother, Dwight Dencil (Brenda) Triplett; grandchildren, Jeremiah Nathan Triplett, Alexis Michelle Triplett, and Melody Grace Triplett; brothers-in-law, Warren (Brenda) Richards and Billy (Susie) Ferrell; sister-in-law Diana Ferrell; very special friend, Daniel Browning; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, August 20, 2023 at the funeral home with Johnny Workman, Clifford Ellis, and Eric “Tubby” Rakes officiating. Burial will follow at the Myrtles Memory Garden, Ferrellsburg, WV.

Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Nathan Triplett, Camron Stover, Tony Ferrell, Phillip Ferrell, Josh Brunty, John Cain, Dale Toler, Bo Berry, and Jason Tomblin.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Freeman Funeral Home to assist the family with the service.
