Rexall “Sam” Bledsoe, 77 of Chapmanville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2024, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his wife and children.

He was born November 18, 1946, in Chapmanville, WV the son of the late Virgil & Draxie Bledsoe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Bledsoe Gore; grandparents, Randolph & Josie Bledsoe and Anthony & Laura Hamilton; and his in-laws, James Roy & Esther Jarrell.

Sam was a US Army Veteran having served in Germany. He was a retired coal miner working underground for 30 plus years. Sam was a Christian and loved the Lord. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Sam loved family holiday gatherings. He enjoyed watching his favorite shows Gunsmoke and Matlock, he also loved watching wrestling. Sam loved going out to eat with his wife at Golden Corral just for the catfish and chicken legs, he also loved going for car rides with his fur baby Finn.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Joyce Ann Bledsoe; daughters, Jennifer (Roby) Morgan and Emily Bledsoe; son, Rexall Lou “Buddy” Bledsoe Jr.; grandson that he has raised since he was 6 months old, Kenneth “Sammy” Parr IV; grandsons, James “Jr” Browning, Dylan Bledsoe, and Jacob Parr; one granddaughter who was the light of his life and his pride and joy, Alisha “LuLu” Browning; great-grandsons, Michael Browning and Jaxson Browning; great-granddaughter, Kaziyah Grace Bledsoe; brother, Bill (Loretta) Bledsoe; his fur baby, Finn; and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home with Philip Meade officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 1:00pm - 2pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
