Rev. Darrell Lewis “Guitar Man” Baker, 73 of Chapmanville, WV, formerly of Jolo, WV, went home to be with the Lord on October 22, 2025 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.

He was born February 2, 1952 in Bradshaw, WV the son of the late Charlie Anderson Baker and Katherine Roberts Baker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Hershel, Alvie, Norman and Ernest and his in-laws, Thurman and Parlee Vance McCoy.

Darrell enjoyed restoring Hot Rods and going to car shows. He loved his grandchildren, helping people and he loved the Lord.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Peggy Lynn McCoy Baker; his daughter, Michelle Baker (Don) Manns; two grandchildren, D.J. (Beth) Manns, and Angela Ward; two great grandchildren, Brooklynn Ward and Hailey Riffe (Chayden Stacy); one great great grandchild, Hudson “Little Man” Stacy; special friends, Eddie Carpenter (Amber Ball), and Jason (Amy) Carpenter; his fur baby, Cutie Pie; one sister, Carol O'Quinn; two brothers, Estil Baker and Dale Baker; and a host of other family and friends.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with Ronnie Collins officiating. Burial will follow at the Baker Cemetery, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Don Manns, Chayden Stacy, D.J. Manns, Jason Carpenter and Brian Compton.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
