Ray Marcum, 64 of Shamrock, WV, departed this life on October 22, 2025 at his residence.

He was born June 30, 1961 in Logan, WV the son of the late John and Vinnie Marcum.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis & Sarah Marcum and Albert & Debbie Adams, sisters, Debbie Cull, and Annie Ball, brothers, Boyd Marcum and Wade Marcum, sisters-in-law, Alice White, Bessie Vance, and Drema Vance, brother-in-law, James “Porky” Marcum, nephew, Jamie Ball, stepson, Scotty Plumley his special brother-in-law, Bob “Pappy” Vance, and his in-laws, James & Betty Marcum.

Ray enjoyed spending time with his wife, fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling, watching TV and hiking.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 44 years, Edna Marcum; son, Stevie Marcum; sisters, Sarah Ball and Darlene Woody; brothers, Johnny (Carol) Marcum and Clay (Gwen) Marcum; grandson, Hayden Vance; special nieces and nephews, Sunshine (Mack) Brumfield, Kemley “Girlie” (Pete) Green, Christina Smith, Angel (Chris) Johnson, Betty Hunter, Misty Gibson, Donny Lee Woody, Michael (Cristy) Woody, Daniel Woody, Nathan Ball, Kevin Woody, Cody Ball, Buddy Allen Ball, Johnny Jude Marcum, Johnny Lee Marcum, Bobby Vance, Johnathan Vance, Bessie White and Christina White; great niece and nephew, Bella Hunter and Codey Tomblin; and a host of other family and friends.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with Barney Goins officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Mack Brumfield, Codey Tomblin and other family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hayden Vance, Nathan Ball and Cody Ball.
