Phyllis Jean Collins, 66 of Harts, WV, departed this life on Monday, March 24, 2025 at her residence.

 

She was born March 11, 1959 in West Hamlin, WV the daughter of the late Wilde “Bill” Fugate and Lillian Fugate.

 

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents; Robert and Pearlie Fugate, maternal grandparents; Everett and Polly Browning, her in laws; Elbert Collins Sr. and Annie Collins; siblings; Gary (Brenda) Fugate, Catherine Walker, Fred (Betty) Collins, and Gaynell (Paul) McCloud, sister in law; Dorothy Collins ,brothers in law; Byrd Workman, Nobel Partch and Delmer Dillon, and the father of her grandchild; Chad Carter.

 

Phyllis Jean loved to cook, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband; Gary Collins, two daughters; Trista (John) Petroff and Carolyn (Nathaniel) Workman, three sisters; Carol Dillon, Tina Fugate, and Mary (Phillip) Adkins, grandchildren; Tyler (Haley) Carter, Zackary (Heather) Workman, Allie Browning, Lillie Browning, Jackson Petroff, Lanee Lambert, Casey Yon, and Zoey Workman, great granchildren; Winston Workman and Addy Carter, in-laws, Elbert Collins Jr., Gilbert (Connie) Collins, Malinda Workman, Phyllis Collins, Carrie Conley, special aunts; Essie (Raymond) Watts and Bessie (Delbert) Watts, special cousins; Wendell (Barb) Bryant, special friends; Jimmy (Jane) Carter, and caregiver; Melissa Hensley.

 

Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 29, 2025 at MudFork Freewill Baptist Church with Jimmy Carter and Elbert Collins Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Collins-Bryant Cemetery in Harts, WV

 

Visitation will be on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the church.

 

Pallbearers will be Tyler Carter, Zackary Workman, Casey Yon, Kevin Bryant Jr., Camron Sweat, Jonathan Christian, Breaden McCann, and James Ellis.

 

Honorary Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Workman, John Petroff, Kevin Bryant, Brandon Collins, and Jackson Petroff.
