Peggy "Mem" McCormick

Peggy L. “Mem' McCormick, 87 of North Fork of Big Creek, Chapmanville, WV departed this life on May 4, 2020 at her residence.

She was born March 26, 1933 in Madison, WV the daughter of the late Charley and Marie Harmon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandy McCormick and two brothers, Bill and Dave Harmon.

Mem enjoyed working outside in her garden, shopping, going for rides and brownies. She loved spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 66 years, Darrell McCormick of North Fork of Big Creek; one daughter, Donna S. Vannatter of North Fork of Big Creek; one son, Chuck McCormick of North Fork of Big Creek; three sisters, Janet Miller, Hattie Vance and Delta (Sherman) Dowdy; four brothers, Junior Harmon (Francis Ann), Jack Harmon, Johnny Harmon (Kay) and Kermit Harmon; four grandchildren, Tonya Vannatter (Traci Strickland), Sarah Vannatter, Nathan McCormick and Nolan McCormick; and two great-grandchildren, Ian Shriver and Damian McCormick.

Due to the CDC and the State's recent mandate on public gatherings, related to COVID-19, only 25 people or less are permitted at the services.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 8, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Mosteller officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.

Friends may call Friday, May 8, 2020 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
