Mossie Lee Ellis, 72 of Logan, WV, departed this life on June 21, 2025 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 2, 1952 in Logan, WV the son of the late Floyd Allen and Martha Ellis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Nottingham, grandson, Kayden Ellis and his father and mother-in-law, Everett and Ethel Rife.

Mossie loved building literally anything and spending time with his grandkids.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Vernie Ellis; daughter, Valerie Ellis (Brandon Schaller); sons, James Ellis, Kenny (Miranda) Ellis and Joseph Ellis; brother, Scottie Ellis; grandchildren, Justin Ellis, Christian (Lauren) Ellis, Preston (Jordan) Ellis, Faith Rayne and Vinny Schaller; great granddaughter, Ella Jane Ellis; all his co-workers from Baisden Brothers; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Vernie Ellis at 319 University Ave, Logan, WV to help with arrangements.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
