Minnie Jewell Workman Lucas, 91 of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on October 29, 2025 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.

She was born April 17, 1934 in Ferrellsburg, WV the daughter of the late Sherman Workman & Gertrude Lambert Workman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Earl Lucas, brother Paul (Marie) Ferrell and father and mother-in-law, John Lucas and Virdi Tipton Lucas.

Jewell enjoyed going to the Tracy Vickers Center everyday socializing and having lunch, she also enjoyed reading, crocheting, doing word search puzzles and spending time with her great grandchildren. Jewell was a member of the Greenshoal Freewill Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two children, Robert “Bob” (Debra) Lucas and Sue (Ronnie) Salmons; five grandchildren, Jodi (Jason) Adkins, Jeni (Matt) Thompson, Rodney (Chrissy) Salmons, Rachael Honaker and Kayla Salmons; five great grandchildren, Jessi Adkins, Jaxon Adkins, Lorelai Thompson, Gracie Thompson and Ruby Thompson; special nephew, David (Zandra) Ferrell; and her special cousins, Doris Adkins, Oretha Workman and Nancy Midkiff.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with Frankie Frye and Jerry Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, at Pecks Mill, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
