Michael Lenn Butcher “Coal Train”, 71 of Chapmanville, WV departed this life on October 16, 2023 at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV.

He was born August 5, 1952 in Chapmanville, WV the son of the late Emmett and Rose Shadd Butcher.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Butcher; and three brothers, Clifford Butcher, Calhoun Butcher, and Wilson Butcher.

Michael enjoyed working, hunting, game roosters, watching football, and spending time with his children and dogs.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Tinelle Vanatter of Shively, WV; one daughter, Nicole (Keith) Adkins of Verdunville, WV; two sons, Mikey Butcher (Melissa Woolum) of Verdunville, WV and Craig Butcher of Shively, WV; three step-sons, Jeremy Adams of Cleveland, OH, Robert Vanatter of Bluefield, WV, and Zander Conyers of Shively, WV; two sisters, Mary (Burnard) Scarberry of Youngstown, OH., and Bonnie (Era) Conely of Valley City, OH; one brother, Louie Clint (Mary) Butcher of Shively, WV; and two grandchildren, Paetyn Butcher and Chase Butcher of Verdunville, WV.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Freeman Funeral Home to help with arrangements.
