Melvin "BB" Ray Cook, 76, of Blair, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at his residence.
He was born May 19, 1943 in Canton, OH, a son of the late Melvin C. Cook & Roxie Cook.
In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Offrey & Draxie Cook; his in-laws, Delvin & Laura Osborne; and one sister, Joan Connors.
BB enjoyed going to church, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, four wheeler riding, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Blair Church of God and worked at Sharples Coal Company along with Hobet. BB was also a member of the UMWA, a 32nd Mason, and a member of the Shriners. BB was a graduate of Sharples High School class of 1961.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sandra Cook; one daughter, Roxanne (Randy) Mayhorn; two sons, Melvin (Julie) Cook Jr., and Scotty (Velma) Cook; three brothers, Harold Cook, Jerry (Kaye) Cook, and Robin Cook; three grandchildren, Brittni (Eric Evans) Mayhorn, Joe Holt, and Heather Holt; one great- grandchild, Ava Holt; and special cousin, Ralph Cook, who was always there and helped in every way whom was loved dearly.
A special thanks to Randy Mayhorn, Ralph Cook, and Kaye Cook for everything they have done, for going above and beyond and being there for Melvin and the family.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, July 26, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Lane officiating. Burial will follow at Opperman Cemetery, Blair, WV where there will be Masonic grave rights follow.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Freeman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
