Maxine Adkins

Maxine Adkins, 89 of Ranger, WV, departed this life on July 2, 2020 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

She was born September 17, 1930 in West Hamlin, WV the daughter of the late Donald & Martha Miller Adkins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jackie Adkins, one grandchild, James E. Adkins, three great grandchildren, Nickolas, Elijah, and Jackson; three sisters, Evagene, Magaline and Sylvia, and four brothers, Howard, Leander, Kelly and Lionel Ray.

Maxine enjoyed gardening, shopping, going to church and spending time with her family and her church family.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Linda (Jimmy) Collins and Virginia (John Kinder) Gibson; one son, Roger (Loretta) Adkins; one sister, AnnaMae McCallister; thirteen grandchildren, Joyce, Angela, Jackie Dale, Jamie, Roberta, Michelle, Timmy, Crystal, Joe, Amy, Martha, Roger, and James Terry; twenty three great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, July 6, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home with Ernest Neace officiating. Burial will follow at the Bishop Cemetery, Leet, WV.

Friends may call Monday, July 6, 2020 from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her family and friends.
