Mary Evelyn Farris

Mary Evelyn Farris, 78 of Peach Creek, WV, departed this life on September 15, 2022 at her residence with her loved ones by her side.

She was born June 13, 1944 in Logan, WV the daughter of the late Wanna Ray Sizemore and Edna Mae (Thomas) Browning.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Farris and one brother, Larry Ray Sizemore.

Mary was such a wonderful person who enjoyed reading her bible, going to church, yard sales, flea markets and spending time with her nieces and nephews. Mary was a prayer warrior, anytime anyone needed prayer, Mary was the go-to person.

Those left to cherish her memory include one sister, Sarah Legg; her nieces and nephews, Jared Sizemore, Shawnee (David) Morton, Alex (Stormi) Morton, Turner Morton, Jamie (Ryane) Morton, Aiyana Morton and Lucas Morton, Sandi (Lonnie) Fravel, Tiffany (Chaise) Lowe, Max Lowe, Freya Lowe, Makayla Moore, Jake Moore, Tony (Malindia) Deer, Abigail Deer, Victoria Deer, Carolyn Tonya (Cory) Dupuy, Tracy (Jeff) Yeager, Marlea Yeager, Heather Long, Benjamin Long and Haley Long; special cousin, David Watkins; and special friends, Donna Fair and Shirley Raye.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 19, 2022 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Canoe Branch, Chapmanville, WV.

Services will be held at 12:00pm, Monday, September 19, 2022 at the church with Assistant Pastor Tony Deer and Pastor Alan Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.

Pallbearers will be Tony Deer, Jake Lyall, Alan Ferguson, Jesse Brewer, David Watkins and Alvis Queen.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
