Mary Edith Steele Farmer, 88 of Chapmanville, WV, passed on from this life on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Logan Regional Medical Center.

She was born on October 10, 1935 in Chapmanville, WV, the daughter of the late Walter P. and Lela Olive Steele.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Farmer, brothers, Walter Steele Jr., John Steele, and James Steele; sisters, Virginia Hutcherson, Ruby Perry, Patsy Clark, and Margaret Flemming; son, Stanley Dean Farmer; and grandsons Shawn Michael Farmer, and Kippy Lee Farmer.

Mary loved going to church and was a devoted life-long member of Morning Star Freewill Baptist Church in addition to cooking, reading, quilting and spending time with her beloved family.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Kenny Farmer and Jeff (Denise) Farmer; daughter-in-law, Frances Farmer; two sisters, Frances (Sam) Carper and Olivia Vogel; one brother, Donald (Audra) Steele; as well as 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 6:00pm-9:00pm at Morning Star Freewill Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 12:00pm, Monday, June 24, 2024, at Morning Star Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Collins officiating. Burial will follow at the Steele Cemetery, West Fork, Chapmanville, WV.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
