Marlene Burton, 64 of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, WV.

She was born May 14, 1961, in Grundy, VA, the daughter of the late Virgil Burton and Maxine Whitt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Thomas Burton; brother, Linnie Burton; grandparents, Millard and Thelma Adams; and father-in-law, James Burton.

Marlene enjoyed spending time with family, sowing, and traveling.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Nathan Whitt (Bridget Sparks), Stephen Burton (Babydoll Richards) and Anthony Burton (Jessica Willix); sisters, Henrietta Burton, Melinda Combs and Barb Burton; brothers, Timmy Burton and Ray Whitt; grandchild, Selena Burton; and mother-in-law, Sharon Burton.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home with Jerry Adams officiating. Burial will follow at the Burton Cemetery, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
