Marian Jewell Dowdy

Marian Jewell Dowdy, 90, of Youngstown, FL, went home to be with Jesus on April 13th 2021 surrounded by family.

Born March 8th, 1931 in Logan, West Virginia to the late Mildred Coberly and Tremble Gilliam.

Marian loved gardening, tending to her flowers, reading and playing pogo, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and loved each of them with all of her heart. She was a Christian all her life and was a member of the Lighthouse Church in Fountain, Florida. Marian also enjoyed spending time with her little Fella doodle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, Sister Helen Eplin, Daughter Mildred Suzie Frye, Sons, James E and Don S Dowdy and grandchild Emery Lee.

Those left to cherish her include, Son Tommy M Dowdy and Daughters Patricia “Geishi” Dingess and Paul, Rebecca “Becky” Dingess and Timmy, Debra “Deb” Buttrick and James and Rosalee “Rhodie” Hightower. Also left to cherish her are 3 special daughters in law, Judy Dowdy, Debra Dowdy and Patricia Dowdy. 12 grandchildren, Melissa Allred, James Dowdy, Amber Dowdy, Valerie Dillon, Shawna Lynn Friar, Susan Benoit, Paul David Dingess, Aaron Dingess, Zachariah Dingess, Allen Whitt, Beccah Dingess, and Terri Lynn Hileman. 16 great grandchildren, Jaymie Dowdy, Liam Dowdy, Emily Allred, Cameron Allred, Kamaya Dowdy, Kyle Dowdy, Kayden Dowdy, Preston Dillon, Logan Smith, Maddie Friar, John Ray Benoit, Shelby Caldwell, Jaxson Dingess, Christian Whitt, Makayla Benites and Nevaeh Frye, and 2 great-great grandchildren, Cole Caldwell and Sophia Whitt.

Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home with Donnie Wells officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 12:00 pm til 3:00 pm at the Freeman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Dowdy, Dave Dingess, Allen Whitt, Aaron Dingess, Zach Dingess, Liam Dowdy, Jaxson Dingess, Christian Whitt, John Ray Benort, Logan Smith, Preston Dillon, Cameron Allred, and Kayden Dowdy.
