Lucille Faye Adkins, 89 of Harts, WV, departed this life on April 23, 2025 at her residence.

She was born March 27, 1936 in Hamlin, WV the daughter of the late Leroy & Ethel Lovejoy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samp Adkins, her son, Ricky Adkins, daughter-in-law, Peggy Adkins, grandson, Earl Toney, granddaughter, Miah Adkins, great-granddaughter, Pyper Adkins, brothers, Luther Lovejoy and Curtis Lovejoy and her father and mother-in-law, Harrison and Gertie Adkins.

Lucille loved gardening, spending time with family and friends, doing crossword puzzles and working.

Those left to cherish her memory include six sons, Gary (Nancy) Adkins, Danny (Lori) Adkins, Harrison David (Mary Sue) Adkins, Glen (Becky) Adkins, Mickey (Charlene) Adkins and Ronald Adkins; daughter-in-law, Ella Hazel Adkins; two sisters, Hazel Terry and Alma Lou Pauley; three brothers, Roger Lovejoy, Dennis Lovejoy, and Thurmond Lovejoy; twenty-one grandchildren, Kevin, Jason, Jermiah, David, Jessica, Tonya, Amanda, Sandra, Samantha, Brittany, Gary, Amber, Christopher, Tiffany, Kaylin, Rhonda, Ricky Shannon, Nathan, Crystal and Christy; thirty five great-grandchildren, Ty, Benji, Raylon, Liam, Kameron, Ashton, Austin, Mia, Brandy, Dixi, Clay, Jordyn, Alex, Abigail, Bella, Russell, Larissa, Landon, Lawson, Lorelei, Paisley, Tucker, Natilie, Greyson, Keith, Parker, Journee, Colton, Adriana, Alexander, Addyson, Kenzi, Tommy, Dustin and Brandon; and two great-great grandchildren, Laklynn and Remington.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with Allen Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at the Adkins Cemetery, Big Ugly, Harts, WV.

Visitation will be on Sunday, April 27, 2025 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
