Lucille Adkins, 92 of Holden, WV, departed this life on September 22, 2020 at her residence.
She was born May 30, 1928 in Holden, WV the daughter of the late Walker Tabor and Essie (Gilpin) Tabor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William “Bill” Adkins, son, William Michael Adkins, daughters, Connie Gail Adkins and Jimmi Sue Adkins, granddaughter, Jennifer Adkins, sister, Elizabeth Samson, brother, Robert Tabor and sons-in-law, Douglas Horn, Ronald Nelson and Roger McGrew.
Lucille enjoyed going to church, singing in the choir, crocheting and loved taking “sister” trips with her sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Linda McGrew of Holden, Patty Nelson of Whitman and Jane (Alan) Adkins of Whitman; two sons, Robert (Barb) Adkins of Whitman and Jamie Adkins of Logan; daughter-in-law, Sandy Adkins; two sisters, Judy Hicks of Chapmanville and Betty (Fred) Clark of Logan; nine grandchildren, Mindy McGrew, Mark McGrew, Staci Freeman, Lisa Kitchen, Scott Nelson, William Horn, Josh Horn, Angela Apolinar and Tony Adkins; thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the #20 Whitman Church with Rev. Joaquine Ooten officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.
Friends may call Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the church.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
