Lonnie Gene Damron, 62 of Logan, WV departed this life on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Hubbard Hospice House.

He was born January 10, 1964 in Logan, WV the son of the late Massie Damron Sr and Lura Nelson Damron.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, the late Rhodes Damron, Peggy Marcum, Fred and Maryetta Nelson; his sister, Rosemary Damron; brothers, Billy Damron, and Tommy Damron.

Lonnie enjoyed spending time with his grand baby, Isaac, family, and friends. He liked to fish and crack jokes. He loved going to church.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Ashley Nicole (Bruce) Butcher; sisters, Doris J. Michaloff and Theresa McKinnon; brothers, Massie Damron Jr., Grady Damron, Fred Damron, and Ricky Damron; grandson, Isaac Butcher; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 24, 2026 at Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor John E. Godby officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, WV

Pallbearers will be Massie Damron, Mack Damron, Mark Butcher, Bruce Butcher, Ashley Butcher, and Sabrina Damron.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
