In great sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Lonnie Edward Brewster, 54 of Harts, WV, on April 25, 2025 at the Hubbard Hospice House West, in South Charleston, WV, after his 2 ½ yearlong battle and suffering over an in-just act, he will be joining his father in their heavenly home.

He was born August 27, 1970 in Chicago, ILL the son of Joan “Joany” Brewster and the late David P. Brewster.

He was preceded in death by his father, David P. Brewster, and brother-in-law, Michael Workman.

Lonnie was a devoted father and grandfather, he enjoyed doing drywall work, and was a coal truck driver.

In addition to his mother those left to cherish his memory include his two daughters, Chloe Hensley and Hayley Brooke Brewster; two sisters, Mary “Kitten” Workman and Davina “Dee” (Tony) Purkey; two brothers, Danny (Robin) Brewster, and David “Davey” (Mary) Brewster; two grandchildren, Nathan “Nate Dog” Kitchen and Judd David Hensley; and a special nephew, D.J. (Destiny) Brewster; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers to please make donations to Freeman Funeral Home to help with Lonnie's arrangements.

Services will be held at 12:00pm, Friday, May 2, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with Bill Mitchell and Vivie Marcum officiating. Burial will follow at the Alice Farley Cemetery, Harts, WV.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be his Brandon Workman, Larry Workman, Shane Hensley, Travis Richards, JL McCoy, and DJ Brewster.

Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Workman and Zach Brewster.
