Lois Ann Holbrook Sluss, 68 of Yolyn, WV, departed this life on January 1, 2026 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, in Huntington, WV.

She was born June 18, 1957 in Man, WV the daughter of Jacqueline Bartley Holbrook and the late Richard Holbrook.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lan and Myrtle Fields Holbrook, and Hazel Hall, brothers, Richard Herman Holbrook and Lan Morris Holbrook II and her in-laws, Truman and Dorothy Sluss.

Lois' most prized possessions were her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and watching them play sports.

In addition to her mother those left to cherish her memory include her husband, David Marcum Sluss of Yolyn; daughters, Brandi & James Browning of Yolyn and Vanessa & Cody Perry of Dandridge, TN; sister, Lilly & David Collins of Oak Hill, OH; sister-in-law, Jennie Holbrook of Davin; brother-in-law, Sam Sluss of Garner, NC; nana of, Cody Browning, Alex Browning both of Yolyn, Zachary Browning of Sieverville, TN, Zoey Browning, Mykala Browning, Hailie Riffe, Kaitlyn Perry and Brooklyn Perry all of Dandridge; special nieces and nephews, Taunja Hancsak, Stephanie Evans, Sherry Rogers, Kristi Glanden, Lan Holbrook; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Freeman Funeral Home with Barney Goines officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
