Lillian Sargent, 74 of Whitman, WV, departed this life on February 22, 2026 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

She was born September 11, 1951 in Logan, WV the daughter of the late Donald Swims and Rosa Browning Swims.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Lee Sargent, grandparents, Frank & Edith Browning, and John & Lila Swims, two brothers, Donald Ray Swims and John Franklin Swims and her father and mother-in-law, Jesse & Irene Tomblin Sargent.

Lillian loved being with family, especially her grandchildren, going to church, helping prepare meals for church events and feeding the needy. She was recently nicknamed “Bean Maker” at the church, because everyone thought her beans were the best and she was honored to be that.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Stephanie (Robert) Peraldo and Susan (Brett) Browning; one sister, Patricia (John) Howard; two brothers, David (Jackie) Swims and Daniel Swims; sister-in-law, Debbie Swims: four grandchildren, Kyle Ian Browning, Ethan Peraldo, Brayden Lee Browning, and Faithann Grace Browning; and her little dog, Precious.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Freeman Funeral Home with Roger “Carl” Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ethan Peraldo, Brayden Browning, Kyle Browning, Brett Browning, Robert Peraldo and Ray Vinson.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
