Lige Paulsen, 73 of Harts, WV, departed this life on at Logan Regional Medical Center.

He was born January 27, 1953 in Yeager, WV the son of the late Richard and Demi Paulsen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, James Owens; mother-in-law, Virginia Ratclipp; great-granddaughter, Piper Ingels; brothers, Sherman and Odell; sister, Mary Wiley; and niece Kimberly Paulsen.

Lige enjoyed fishing, hunting, classic cars, riding the side by side, working in his garage, coon hunting with Nikeshia, and his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Brenda Paulsen; daughter, Jessica (Jason) Bailey; son, Derik Johnson; sister, Sarah Meeks; brothers, Charlie Paulsen and Willie Paulsen; grandchildren, Nikeshia (Luke) Ingels; great-grandchildren, Raylon and Remi Ingels.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 6:00-9:00 PM at Freeman Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 12:00 PM, July 10, 2026 at Freeman Funeral Home with Dwight Wiley, Paul Wiley, and Jason Wiley officiating. Burial will follow at the Queen Cemetery in Harts, WV.

Pallbearers will be Jason Bailey, Luke Ingels, Dale Aldridge, Ricky Thomas, Mitch Hensley, Greg Meeks, and Barry Paulsen.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
