Leslie Gene Vickers, 66, of Foster, WV, departed this life on Monday, May 24, 2021 at his residence.
He was born May 12, 1955 in Madison, WV, the son of the late Carl and Sylvia Yeager Vickers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elwanda Canterbury and Lois (Tobbi) Atkins, two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Atkins and Rex Cooper, and his father-in-law, Donald Adkins.
Leslie enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time at his river house. He was a coal miner and a lifetime member of the UMWA and the NRA. Leslie was a proud husband, father and pop-pop and will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Cindy Vickers of Foster; two daughters, Tessa (Jason) Cook of Philipsburg, PA and Lesley Vickers (Andrew) of Tampa, FL; two sons, Ben Vickers of Tampa, FL and Coval “CJ” Parsons, of Rock Hill, SC; one grandchild, Jaylee Cook; four sisters, Patsy Atkins, Mary Janet Cooper, Vivian (Roger) Hicks and Jeanette (Everette) Hager; four brothers, Leroy (Patty) Vickers, Carl Vickers, Bobby Joe Vickers and David (Debbie) Vickers; and his mother-in-law, Faye Adkins.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Family Memorial Gardens, Danville, WV with Stevie Cox officiating.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
